Day 11 - Patience

Every morning, Dolly stares at me from the back field.
She moves to the middle of the field to line up with the kitchen window so she can see me,
or more likely, I can see her.
This morning, through the frozen fog, she seemed like a statue.
Patiently waiting for me to bring her breakfast and in turn give me her milk.

I'm amazed how life survives in this cold.

Well, the survivors survive.
Somehow they know how to hold their energy in and not waste it away.
Preservation mode.
They must know of the sunshine that will come someday and warm the soil again.
