DAY 8 - Let's dump our crap here
And we're off for a grand day of hiking in our own back yard!
It's incredibly beautiful here in the Rogue Valley.
It's incredibly beautiful here in the Rogue Valley.
Look Mommy! A giant pine cone!
Wait a minute... what's all this Mommy???
Grrrrr!!! This has always befuddled and infuriated me! It never ceases... when I head out to escape man's constructs, to bathe in the glory of mother nature, I'm reminded of how limited and stupid humanity can be. Why, oh why, would some knuckle-head drive all the way out here, pack their garbage up a remote and steep path and leave it? To save a few bucks at the recycling center/dump? Really??!! Gas and effort alone would have paid for this! The ones that make me even more nutty are the messy campers/hikers. They obviously are out in the great-outdoors, in the same places I am, because they think it's someplace special. So, isn't the usual response to protect something special? To savor its loveliness? These must be the same people that hit their kids and say mean things to their partners. I wish I could catch one, in the act, and ask them why they do it, but for now, I'll assume they are the worst of people. Stupid and mean. And we'll continue to tell Daisy to pick up after other people because they just don't care as much as she does.
Thankfully, the good outweighs the bad.
